Are cheap coding gigs worth it?

I keep seeing these tiny freelance coding jobs for five to twenty dollars and I am wondering if anyone has actually had a good experience with them, or if they usually end up being a waste of time with broken code and endless back and forth, because I could really use some small fixes done but I do not want to throw money away on something that will not work.

Usually you get what you pay for, stolen code or someone who cannot debug. But I gave it another shot on a site that actually screens people. That is where freelance coding gigs made sense for me. Paid ten bucks for a small code fix. The seller messaged fast, explained the issue, and sent clean working code. Night and day. If the platform verifies freelancers and holds your money until delivery, those cheap gigs are worth trying for small tasks. Just stay away from sites where anyone can post a listing with no checks.
