Anyone skip the thank you email and still get the job?
I'm curious if anyone has ever skipped sending a thank you email after an interview and still landed the job? I’ve always been told it's crucial, but I'm wondering if it's just one of those outdated rules that everyone pretends is important. Has anyone gone against the grain and been successful? I'm mostly curious to know if the amount of effort is even worth it. Share your stories!

Yes, I think it can definitely happen! Ultimately, your qualifications and the interview itself matter most. However, I would still err on the side of caution and take the time to craft something simple, instead of nothing. I know that when I’m interviewing, I do think it sets a candidate apart. I'm not saying you can't get hired without sending a thank you email after interview because obviously people do. But why not give yourself every little advantage you can? If your interview went well enough, sending a short email is a good way to reaffirm your interest.
