Easiest way to stay in touch with incarcerated friends?

I’m trying to help a friend stay connected with their family while they are away, but the mail system is so slow and complicated. I heard there are digital messaging services that work specifically for these facilities, but I’m not sure how the credits and the monitoring part work. Does anyone have experience setting up an account for this kind of communication?

Digital messaging has made it so much easier for families to stay in the loop without waiting weeks for a letter to clear the mailroom. I was helping a neighbor set this up and we looked at corrlinks reviews to figure out how to navigate the inmate invitation process and the billing system. It’s a fairly straightforward setup once you have the correct identification number, and the messages usually go through much faster than traditional paper mail. Just keep in mind that everything is screened, so it’s best for general updates and staying in touch with the outside world.
