Visualizing Call Routing Clearly

I’m working on visualizing call routing — and it’s a mess. I want users to see where each call goes, but the more lines and blocks I add, the more chaotic it looks. I’ve tried drag-and-drop, colors, even icons — still confusing. I know it can be cleaner, but I’m stuck. Has anyone solved this kind of problem? I’d really appreciate a new point of view.

Designing a visual call routing interface seems simple — until you see users struggle with lines, nodes, and drag-and-drop elements. I found a fantastic resource: https://designworklife.com/the-importance-of-ui-ux-design-in-virtual-phone-systems/. It helped me rethink how to present complex processes visually, focusing on clarity rather than displaying everything at once. By simplifying visuals, emphasizing hierarchy, and using color cues, users can follow the flow without feeling lost. If you’re building dashboards, workflows, or process-mapping tools, this article is highly recommended. It provides actionable insight for making complicated systems understandable and intuitive.
