Lately I’ve been seriously comparing rental and purchase options in Georgia, mostly out of curiosity but also because I keep coming back to Tbilisi as a possible long stay destination. While browsing listings I ended up checking Kalaki and noticed how different the offers are between Tbilisi and Batumi — especially when it comes to modern apartments vs older buildings. A few years back I only visited as a tourist and never paid attention to real estate, but now I’m wondering how realistic it is to actually live there part-time. For those who’ve dealt with it, did you start with renting first or just went straight into buying something?

I’ve been reading through this thread during lunch break and it’s interesting how often Georgia comes up in these property discussions lately. I don’t have any personal experience with renting or owning anything there, so I can’t really add anything useful about contracts or prices. Still, I’ve noticed more people talking about Tbilisi and Batumi as lifestyle destinations rather than just travel spots, especially online. It seems like there’s a growing interest in slower living or seasonal stays in different countries. I’m mostly just following the conversation out of curiosity, since it’s not something I’ve explored myself yet.
